ORANGE JUICE!!!

That was just an awesome random thing. I don't know why said it! So. . .

School is great!!! My teachers are pretty awesome, all my friends are here (except Abby!! MISS YOU!! I HOPE YOU ARE HAVING FUN IN INDIANA) and volleyball is going pretty well, except that we lost our first match against Harrisonville. BARELY! And some girl called Rae a mean word (they were just jealous of her awesomeness!). Actually, B team won. A team is the one that barely lost. Okay, my schedule,

R-1 Algebra
R-2 Communication Arts
R-3 Math
R-4 BAND!!!

B-1 Social Studies
B-2 Computer Keyboarding
B-3 Science
B-4 P.E.

Lunch is still walking off the plates. Bathrooms are cold and have the occasional stink. Band is and has always been cold.

We went to the MU football game last Saturday. We won 27-20 against Bowling Green. Connor and I were making eachother mad.

Him: MU is going to lose
Me: Have you ever HEARD of Bowling Green?
Him: No.
Me: Exactly. What good football player would want to go to a college that no one ever hears of or no one likes. Like Bowling Green, or. . . KU!

and. . . . . . .

Me: There are about seven bajillion cars here with tiger tails hanging out of the their trunks.
Him: Wow, that must be a lot of dead tigers.

I decided it was really bad for me to laugh.

I gotta go drink my orange juice (with calcium because apparently I don't drink milk)

AND. . . . WAIT FOR IT. . . . . . . . . .
$125 gift card for Amazon (more towards my iPod Touch)
MY NEW LAPTOP!!! (I was SO excited!! I love it!! It is really awesome!!)

It was one of the best days EVER!! Christy and I rode the Roller Coaster simulator and she was SCREAMING her head off!!! I was cracking up at her!!! Between Kiersten and Kellen and I, we had 523 tickets!!! Amy had 413, Christy had 304 and Rae had somewhere around 254 or something!!!! Kiersten and Kellen and I got 2 necklaces, 2 rings (Kiersten and I had the most) and Kellen got a Whoopie Cusion. HAHAHA!

At Barnes and Noble, I got 3 books, Amy got one (Thirteen Reasons Why), Rae and Christy got one together (Flirtexting). That one is SO FUNNY!!!! There are some random quotes in the back to say to guys you are "flirtexting" and some of them were HILARIOUS. There was this one we pulled on a bunch of guys!!

You: It smells like updog in here!
Him: What is updog?
You: Oh, nothing much, what are you doing???

It was so funny!!! And there's this other one, when you are txting a guy, and he stops texting you and you want a laugh, you say
"Are we playing the quiet game? Because if we are, you are really good!"
I haven't actually pulled that one yet. But I plan on it!!

That's about it. It was a wonderful day and I have a feeling that I won't have another day like this one in a long time.

Oh, and we went to the Deepwater fair and rode some rides. And ate some custard. It was good.

On this one that Christy and I rode (Rae and Amy were wimps and didn't ride it), we offered the dude our tickets and he didn't take them so we got a free ride!!! Kind of exciting!!

Okay, so now that's it! I think.

Flordia- NOW I Can Say 'Been There Done That!'

I had so much fun in Flordia!!!!

We left early-ish to the airport on Friday morning (well early for me!) and we left at, ummm, 11:30 I think. We got to Memphis and i realized that there was NO Dr. Pepper!!!!! There wasn't any no matter where we looked!!! I was not happy at all.

We got to Orlando and I thought we landed in a storm cuz I saw lightning out the plane window!!! By the way, I got to sit in first class a little way because Grandpa let me sit there. Okay, so we got to Orlando and Seth and I were so excited!! There was a guy waiting for us and he had that sign that you see at airports in all the airport movies!!!

That night at the hotel, it was a seafood buffet and I was not happy, but they had spaghetti, and something else, too! I would only eat the fried shrimp, and I could only eat so much of that, so. . . ya. And they also did not have Dr Pepper!

The next day, we went to Animal Kingdom. My two favorite rides there were Kali River Rapids (like the Fury of the Nile (Worlds of Fun) or The Lost River of the Ozarks (Silver Dollar City) and Expidition Everest.

The next day we went to Hollywood Studios! It was really cool!! We rode The Tower of Terror one of the first things. Then we went and got a fast pass thing for The Rockin' Roller Coaster. It was about 1 and our fast passes told us to come back at 8:15 to 9:15! It was crazy. But we did the American Idol Experience during the wait and it was so cool. I loved the girl that won the whole thing. She won a free ticket to the front of any line to an American Idol Audition. She was good. The tower of Terror was so cool! it was like a story and you go forward through it and then you stop and some doors in front of you open and you see the whole park and then you just drop. 13 stories! It was so cool. I was about 3 inches off my seat for about 4 seconds on each of 4 drops! I loved it. But I like the Detinator at World's of Fun more.

The Aerosmith Rockin' Roller Coaster was really cool! It started and went really slowly around a corner and stoped and then it was like the powder keg at silver dollar city and it shot you down a tunnel and went up side down and I liked it. When asked if I lost anything, I said, "Yes. My stomach and my hair style."

At Animal Kingdom, we rode this simulator called Dinosaur, and I hated it so much!!!! Mom and Seth and this little girl and my grandma looked a little scared. My dad and my grandpa and these two other adults were just watching it , me and this guy around my age were ducked down trying to avoid the dinosaurs! I hated it! So they had to get the picture. I was a little mad about that.

The Pirates of the Carribean ride was pretty cool. Splash Mountain was okay. Big drop. Really Wet. Non-happy Taylor. Peter Pan was so awesome. You got to this one spot and the track ended and you just seemed to float through scenes in the movie!!! It was really cool. And my official LEAST favorite song is 'It's a Small World'!!! Especially when tiny dolls are singing it!

Cinderella's castle fireworks were really cool and Tinker Bell came out of a top window and seemed to float across the sky!!

I hated the monorails!! Think about it. Its like a subway 20 feet in the air and you can't even see the rail! It's really bad when you are over alligator infested water and inside buildings on the 2nd and 3rd floors!!!

The ride in the Epcot ball was really cool. It was about the future and we got to make our own! I can't really remember mine, but I broke my arm skiing in my future and had hot chocolate. It took our pics and put our faces on the bodies in the 'future'!!! It was so cool!!!

Soarin was awesome!!! It took you over California scenes and when you went over certain scenes it sprayed scents and it was really cool! Like when we went over the orange groves, we could smell oranges!! It was cool.

More on school tomorrow!!!

That's all folks!!! (I just watched a Bugs Bunny episode)

Being There- Part 3- Tuesday

We went downtown and decided to go to the National Spy Museum. It was pretty fun. Seth LOVED it. We had to pick our identity and memorize everything. Here's mine

  • Name: Jane Meyer
  • Female
  • Age: 13
  • Country of Residence: USA
  • Occupation: Student
  • Destination: Dublin, Ireland
  • Birthplace: Sweetwater, Tennessee
  • Reason for Visit: Vacation
  • Duration of Stay: 7 Days
  • Mission: Go to the National Museum of Ireland- Meet Tommy Doyle (who is my contact and is also a guide in the museum)- Ask about the Vikings of Ireland- Receive a sheet about military actions, written in MICRODOT- Depart and return sheet to headquarters.

We met Nana, Aunt Kathy and Aunt Patty at the National Museum of the American Indian to eat lunch. It was really good and I had the best blackberry pie thing that was hard and the cream was really sweet and the blackberries were perfect! The rest of the Museum wasn't very good, except fot the VERY EXPENSIVE jewelry and the cased beadwork. Those were both really pretty!!!

That night, Jack and Clo took everyone from our part of Missouri to Old Ebbitt's Grill. Someone offered me $100 to eat an oyster. I WOULD NOT DO IT!!! I loved the ribs and fries and ate all of it.

We left for dinner at 7:30 PM and we didn't get back until 10:30 PM. We were glad to go to bed.

Being There- Part Dos (is that how you spell it?)- Monday

Our first morning in D.C. was not my favorite. We had to get up pretty early and I am not an early person. We got up and made our way to the subway. It took forever to figure out how to get passes. We finally figured it out and we were on our way from our stop, which was right across from our hotel, Woodley Park/Zoo.

We stopped at the National Mall. The Lincoln Memorial is 2 miles from the Capitol Building! I had NO IDEA that it was that FAR!!!! Here's what we saw (not necessarily completely all through the whole building, but kind of from the outside)
  • Washington Monument
  • WW2 Memorial
  • Lincoln Memorial
  • Vietnam Memorial
  • White House
  • Capitol Building
  • Smithsonians
  • Library of Congress
  • Supreme Court
  • Potomac River

We walked ALL OVER tarnation (I just had to put that). So finally we decided to just find a place to eat because it was 2PM and we had not eaten. So we settled for the food court in the Ronald Raegan Office Building. Mom and I had Nachos. It was really good.

The subway ride back took forever and it was really crowded.

That night, we ate at Woodley Park Cafe. It was okay. I was glad when we got to the hotel and went to bed.

Getting There- Part 1

It has been forever since I have posted. I'm really sorry.

On the way to Washington D.C., we stopped in Effingham, Illinois, for food and sleep. Our waiter at Lone Star was telling us about the schools there. It was SO funny. He left and I started cracking up. Effingham is the "Flaming Hearts." A town next to it are the "Pretzels" and another town is the "Wooden Shoes." We got the hotel and they didn't let me sleep on a bed! I had to sleep on a therapist couch thing. I mean, I know I have maybe a few issues (unbalanced, forgetful moments, unbalanced, talking too much. . . just to name a few), but that's not enough to make me sleep on a therapist's couch!! But I got over it. . . somewhat. (Leslie's edit - it was a chaise lounge and she volunteered!)

We got in the car the next morning at about 8:30 and I thought it was really REALLY cold!! I never thought that would happen again! But it did! I was happy.

When we hit Terra Houte, we were caught in an overwhelming cloud of horrible stink. Mothballs. That's what it smelled like. And we passed a white thing and Dad said that it really did look like a Giant Mothball!

Ohio was the worst to drive through! It was so wide and took almost 4 hours to cross! We were so bored! There was nothing there and I was in the middle so i could barely see anything and I was beginning to feel sick. When we stopped at McDonalds, I barely ordered anything and then ended up eating half of Mom's meal and my own small fries and milkshake. I felt better and we were back on the road.

When we were on our way to Montana, the clouds magically turned into really pretty snow covered mountains! So, it was almost twilight outside and I saw a "hill" in the distance. Only Nana believed me. Mom didn't say anything. Dad thought I was crazy. Seth. . . was Seth. It turned out, it wasn't a hill/mountain. Dad was kinda mean. When the moon came up, Dad said,"Hey, Taylor!!! Look at the big porchlight on the 'house' on top of the 'mountain'!" I was not very happy with him. Nana and I found our own mountains later.

Dad was telling us about when him and a friend were driving somewhere when they were 16. It was dark and Dad was driving while his friend, Brian, slept. After an hour of driving, Dad set the clock ahead about 4 or 5 hours and told Brian it was his turn to drive. I said that I am going to do that when me and some friends are on a road trip.

We were planning on stopping before we got to D.C., but we were so close so we got a room at the hotel in D.C. and stayed there that night. We got in at about 11. We were just glad to be there.
